Welcome to Iron Man 3

The enjoyment of the iron man films continues with Iron Man 3 Movie in development. Major news with the upcoming film is that the originating director, Jon Favreau, is not going to direct the third film(second sequel).Hollywood is a buzz over who will take the lead forming the dramatic history where Iron Man 2 ended. The much-polished initial effort was over 15 years in the making, so Holywood and not just the comic world is watching.

The element of fantasy is always present in comic book movies, especially when the hero has superhero elements. Tony Stark's arcing suit (called an exoskeleton) allows him to put on and take off this persona at will, without radioactive spiders and faraway planets. But from comic book to film, the impact of the work of Stan Lee and Stan Winston are evident. The cosmos of the comic book hero reaches out to boys of all ages.

Unlike many recent merchandise film bonanzas, the inclusion of Robert Downey Jr., capable directing by Jon Favreau, and casting megawatt stars like Jeff Bridges and Terrence Howard,  (not to mention Gwyneth Paltrow) combined with impressive sets and conceptual design that left viewers wanting more.  Iron Man 2 included some cast substitutions, Don Cheadle for Terrence Howard for example, and Mickey Rourke as Whiplash gave viewers something for their eyeballs to chew on.
Iron Man 3 is eagerly anticipated and awaited by Iron Man fans, but marketing and distribution, promotion and licensing turf wars between the principal studios and various production entities have caused delays. The Mandarin is the ubervillain in Iron Man 3. Robert Downey, Jr., is returning to his now-signature role of Tony Stark, iron man.

The recent news concerning Iron Man 3 has gotten fans of the films and the comic book in an upraor. Evidently Jon Favreau, the director of the highly successful first and second Iron Man films, has walked out on his duties as director for the third iron man film, a 'threequel",  already titled as "Iron Man 3." But if latest news and rumors are true that title is sure to change. In a ‘split decision”, the film Favreau will direct a separate movie for the same studio, which  will be “the Avengers. “ The Avengers was originally a TV series in Britain, forming a huge fan base currently  in nostalgia TV audiences.  The remake recently done starring Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman, was not a critical or box office success.  Accordingly Marvel’s film arm has wanted to erase that film in the public eye with something much more true to form.

The Iron Man movie series has as of yet grossed $1.2 billion dollars. Part of the plot planning that went into Iron Man was strategically changed for the “Avengers” plotline to come. Favreau, who made a name for himself early on with the original independent film hit “Swingers” launched the career of Vince Vaughn almost single handedly.  Favreau will now direct “Magic Kingdom”
